Sangamam

சங்கமம்

Our flagship annual festival, celebrating Pongal, the Tamil New Year, and Tamil Heritage Month. What began as a single afternoon is now a full day of music, dance, and cultural programs — and it is free to MNTS members.

This year

Dates for the next Sangamam are being finalized — watch the events calendar and the newsletter for the announcement.

FAQ

Do I need to be a member to attend?
Everyone is welcome. Entry is free for MNTS members — an Individual, Family, or Student membership pays for itself here.
How does my child perform at Sangamam?
Membership is mandatory for stage participation, and performers under 18 must be covered by a Family membership. Watch the newsletter and the member portal for the call for performers.
Where is it held?
The venue rotates between Twin Cities school auditoriums — recently Wayzata Central Middle School in Plymouth (2026) and Hopkins High School (2025). This year's venue is on the event card above.
Why January and February?
January is Tamil Language and Heritage Month in Minnesota — recognized permanently by a resolution of the State Senate — and Sangamam anchors the celebration alongside Pongal.
